How Luxy Archives operates.

The rules behind every verdict, valuation, and list. Published so they can be checked.

1

Independence

Luxy Archives accepts no sponsorships, no affiliate commissions, no paid placements, no gifted items, and no brand relationships in any category we cover. We do not take a commission on any piece we value. Luxy Archives is funded only by the people who use it, never by the houses, the marketplaces, or the sellers whose prices we report. This is editorial policy, not preference, and it does not bend.

Full reviews cover pieces purchased at retail and photographed in-house. Drop coverage and market intelligence may include official brand imagery, licensed stock, and generated illustrative visuals, and says so where it does.

2

Sourcing

Our values rest on verified sold transactions, cross-checked across independent sources. Asking prices are shown for contrast and never used in a valuation. Aggregators are never cited. Verdicts and valuations rest on sold data whether or not a piece has passed through our hands. We publish the standard, not the supplier list: our sources are not named, so no source can be gamed and no source can be favored.

3

Human review

A person grades and signs off every valuation and every verdict. No condition is graded, no number set, and no verdict issued by anything else.

4

Dating

Every verdict carries the month and year it was made and is issued against what a buyer can choose today. Every valuation is re-verified on a quarterly cycle. A change of view is a new dated entry. The original stays in the archive.

5

Corrections

When the record moves, we correct it. A correction is published where the original appeared, labeled with the date, with the original text kept intact. We will always correct the record when it moves.

6

Changes to the method

When the method changes, this page says what changed, when, and why.

7

The verdicts

Six calls. They are not a ranking; a Heart Buy is not below a Smart Buy. It is a different call for a different reason.

Smart Buy

Strong value and broad appeal at its retail price; validated or likely to hold value better than most.

Niche Pick

The right choice for a specific use case or buyer, not every collector. Value retention isn't the point.

Heart Buy

Exceptional design, worth buying for love; value retention is weak or uncertain.

Wait

A strong candidate at the wrong moment; hold for a better price or timing.

Value Trap

Appealing and well-marketed, but poor long-term resale and liquidity.

Pass

Doesn't justify its price on value or appeal, now or long-term.

Before a piece has sold data, Heart Buy is the only positive call available. How a verdict is reached is set out in our Methodology.
